Being fit is one of the best things that you can do for your body and not everyone has the ability to do it. Maintaining a strict routine when it comes to working out and dieting requires a lot of hard work and discipline. Anyone who manages to become fit develops many good habits and leads a healthy lifestyle, which manifests in the body. It’s well known that the majority of women like fit guys with shredded abs and big muscles, but what about the other scenario? In other words, do men like fit women?
Every guy has his own preference so it’s hard to generalize men’s preferences because they’re all different. Some men like curves while others don’t care about looks. However, generally speaking, the majority of men find fit women attractive.
In this article, we’ll talk about if men like fit women, if being fit is attractive, and if men like muscular women too.

Do Men Like Fit Women?
In order to answer this question, I’ll give my own opinion first then afterward, the opinions of a bunch of guys since my answer alone is biased and doesn’t reflect the majority.
As a guy, I dated a lot of girls, some were skinny, some were curvy, and some were definitely fit. It didn’t make a difference for me since I rarely cared about looks and gave the most importance to personalities. However, I understand that first impressions are mostly based on appearances.
Personally, I definitely like girls who are fit, but what do I really mean by “fit”? I’m referring to girls that have good control over their weight and that take good care of their bodies. That doesn’t necessarily imply that they need to be skinny, it simply means that they can keep a healthy weight and maintain it unintentionally for any period of time.
From a man’s point of view, being fit is a sign of self-control, discipline, and success. If a woman has the ability to stay fit throughout the whole year, that simply implies that she can succeed in a lot of other things in life which is extremely attractive and a great sign to be able to identify in a first impression.
Dating a girl means that you both have to share the same lifestyle, so if she leads a healthy one, you’ll automatically follow in her same footsteps and learn from her all there is to it about being fit, especially if it’s a world that’s still unknown to you.
Also, from what I’ve noticed and also based on my own experience, guys that are fit consider fit girls as hidden gems. Everyone loves to find a partner that’s like-minded and shares the same ideas with you. This means going to the gym together, planning healthy meals, doing couple workouts, and so on.
However, there is one little catch to all this. Being fit is good and all but keep in mind that men prefer women that feel soft and cuddly to the touch instead of feeling like iron from all the hard muscles.
What Do Guys Think?
In order to not give a biased opinion that relies solely on my own experiences, I decided to gather the opinion of a bunch of guys from different sources (friends, forums, youtube videos…) and came up with about 128 answers which is a large enough sample to validate the question.
The answers were different from one person to another but they can be generalized into two major opinions:
- “I find fit women attractive”
- “I don’t like fit women”
Here is a visualization of the results:
As you can see, the majority of men find fit women attractive. Nonetheless, even if it was only a minority, if being fit is something that you personally enjoy and makes you feel good, you should absolutely do it without caring about what other people might think of you or seeking male validation. If your whole purpose of working out and being fit is to attract men, then it’s really a waste of effort.
The most attractive trait of a woman is when she feels good about herself. So work on yourself first, develop good habits, and be happy with what you’re doing, if you do that, men will be flocking all over you.
Do Men Like Muscular Women?
The majority of men prefer women who feel soft and cuddly to the touch rather than feeling like a rock. Muscular women tend to have solid muscles which feel hard to the touch hence why most men avoid them.
However, this doesn’t mean that all men find muscular women unattractive, on the contrary, there are some that find them extremely attractive. One day I heard one of my friends say “There’s something unique and attractive about knowing that a woman can lift you and throw you and play with you like a dumbbell. That determination to get muscles is something that I highly respect”. So I’m sure that there is a vast number of men that enjoy being with a muscular woman.
What isn’t attractive though is “muscular” women who deliberately use performance boosters and steroids which consequently makes them develop some male characteristics but that’s rarely the case unless you’re a professional bodybuilder.
Conclusion:
Whether or not men will like a certain physical aspect of you shouldn’t really matter as long as what you do makes you happy. If being fit or muscular is something that you enjoy, male validation should be your last priority. As I mentioned in the beginning, work on yourself, enjoy what you’re doing, lead a healthy lifestyle, and men will be all over you. Nowadays, the majority of people look for personalities rather than looks.
