Does Planet Fitness Have Mirrors?

Mirrors are considered one of the best human discoveries of all time.  Ever since their discovery over 200 years ago, they have been used almost everywhere and in different establishments. They’re used as wall decorations, for scientific experiments, and as a way to see yourself which was only possible with water reflections back in ancient times. With that being said, one of the most common places where you’ll find mirrors is gyms. One interesting question that I get asked a lot is whether or not Planet Fitness has mirrors.

All Planet Fitness locations have mirrors but not to an extensive degree. They’re only present next to dumbbell racks or in shower rooms.

In this article, we’ll talk about the places where mirrors are present in Planet Fitness as well as their benefits.

Does Planet Fitness Have Mirrors?

What makes Planet Fitness the best in the gym business is the fact that it provides everything that a beginner needs in order to have a solid workout. These include all types of machines, fitness equipment, services, and so on.

One of the most important things that you need to have the most efficient workout is, in fact, mirrors.

All Planet Fitness locations have mirrors inside them and their position will vary depending on each facility. However, before signing up with them, it’s always a good idea to ask for a tour and check for yourself if the position of the mirrors will suit you.

What are their benefits?

They’re Motivating: Mirrors provide an external focus point that will help you get through your workout. There’s nothing better and more motivating than seeing yourself hard at work while lifting those heavy dumbbells or performing some incredible bodyweight exercises.

Mirrors Improve Your Form: Another reason why mirrors are an absolute must for any fitness center is the fact that they help you improve your form. They allow you to observe your form while performing a particular exercise and verify whether or not you’re doing things correctly.

They Lower the Risk of Injury: With a proper form, you’ll also be able to avoid all kinds of injuries, especially if you’re lifting heavy. Working out in front of a mirror will provide you with enough information that’ll allow you to make any necessary adjustments that will prevent any pulled muscles or strains.

They Brighten the Gym: Let’s be honest here, no one likes to work out in a dark moody space, especially since darker colors absorb heat which will make the gym extremely hot. Having mirrors on will not only spread light and brighten up the space, but it’ll also give off the illusion that the studio is much bigger than it is which makes you feel a lot more comfortable training.

Where are Mirrors Located at Planet Fitness?

I used to own a Planet Fitness membership that allowed me to visit any gym I wanted. In total, I trained in about 4 to 5 different locations all of which had mirrors inside them.

Every single Planet Fitness gym I trained at had mirrors in two main areas. The first one is next to the dumbbell rack since that’s the place that mostly requires a good form.

The other place is the shower room that had two to three mirrors depending on the size of the gym.

Here is a picture that shows the position of the mirrors clearly:

And here are the ones in the shower rooms:

As you can see, mirrors are always located in a corner where there are two sides of the walls. With this, they’re able to brighten up the gym and make it look much bigger than it actually is. In addition to that, they’re also always located next to equipment that requires you to have good form.

One important thing you need to keep in mind is the fact that these gym mirrors are always leaned forward a little bit which makes your upper body look much bigger and stronger. It’s a common little trick used by gyms all over the world to keep you motivated and inspired to train.

Conclusion:

So now you know that all Planet Fitness locations have mirrors inside them, but it’s always a good idea to check that information for yourself by asking the staff for a quick visit to the gym before signing up for them. And remember, you’ll always look a little bit bigger while checking gym mirrors as compared to your typical home one.
